Of course, as he said, he also read in a variety of bookstores, coffeehouses and bars to keep his roots in tact. Mike Smith is a full time Field Staff Member. He was introduced to Scientology while a faculty PhD in Chemistry at Cal Tech whereupon he decided to change careers and focus on helping others apply Scientology to improving their lives. Bob Adams is a former NFL football player for 8 yrs. After graduating from the University of the Pacific with a degree in Education and Teaching, he played as a tight end for the Pittsburgh Steelers from 1969 - 1973. He later played for the New England Patriots.
